Blog Contest

Good day all,

So many of you have bought my paintings to display in your homes.  Oh how I'd love to see them in their permanent location.

Can ya'll send me a picture?  Every picture I receive will be put into a drawing for a $15 product credit.  To send me a picture, either post it on my facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/salvagesheek) or email it to me at salvagesheek@gmail.com. Just put your name in the subject!

Can't wait to hear from ya'll.

Much love,
Brie

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

Well, my art room is anyways.... :)

Happy Monday Ya'll! What a blustery weekend we had here in Texas.  40 degrees, windy, and on Friday we had some very cold rain.  All that made it perfect for me to dedicate to my art room.

In case ya'll don't know, I design and build all my sets myself.  Yes, I have an amazing husband but even he will say I'm better with the wood saw.  I get that from my dad.  At a young age, I was following him all around his work sites, probably annoying most of his workers.  Oh well... They never said too much about the curly blonde telling them how to hold a hammer.  Now, I just tell the Lowe's sales reps what tool works better.

Not sure why I felt the need to say that, but anyways... That's that.  I am proud of my abilities to use power tools.

Alright, so back to my post..... Two sets were done this weekend! I am so excited about them.  The first is my Christmas set.  I did these after the excitement from my Halloween ones.  They are $25 including shipping.

I also created a silhouette nativity set.  The smaller are 2x4x4 blocks and the larger is 2x4x7! The star is wrapped metal.  They silhoutte's are rustic black painted on a light green background.  I will also include a small piece of burlap to set them on.  The entire set is $30 and it includes shipping.

Enjoy your week! Be on the lookout for more projects.

Much love,
Brie

The Holiday Season

Morning All!

October through December are my favorite time of year: Decorating the house for Christmas, the smell of holiday cheer, making large dinners for our dear friends who are away from family during the holidays.  Driving around Texas to stroll through Holiday light displays.  All are just a few reasons why I love this time of year.

This year may be different.  My husband is at the very end of being medically retired from the US Army.  It could be a week from now, or three months from now.  The only thing we know is that as soon as it is done, we will have 10 days to finish up our stuff at Ft. Hood, TX before we head off to our new home in Fort Myers, Florida.  With that being said, I am getting all my holiday crafting/painting done early this year.  Who knows: Maybe I'll have a larger home to decorate by Christmas.  (or maybe I'll be putting up the tree in a hotel?) Either way, I've always found each day to be unique and this time is no different.

Yesterday, I started my holiday painting.  This painting is done on salvaged pallet wood, and has repurposed wood on it as the holiday bells.  I'll be finishing up more paintings, so remember to bookmark this blog.

Happy Halloween!

What a busy past few months! But with only a couple weeks left before Halloween, I couldn't resist sitting down and creating some fun decor.  New obsession: Burlap!

This set of 4 is $20 plus shipping.  Each piece is 2x4x8 and would be perfect for a mantle or the dining room table.

I will ship out the same day.  As always:: Much love, Brie
