It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

Well, my art room is anyways.... :)

Happy Monday Ya'll! What a blustery weekend we had here in Texas.  40 degrees, windy, and on Friday we had some very cold rain.  All that made it perfect for me to dedicate to my art room.

In case ya'll don't know, I design and build all my sets myself.  Yes, I have an amazing husband but even he will say I'm better with the wood saw.  I get that from my dad.  At a young age, I was following him all around his work sites, probably annoying most of his workers.  Oh well... They never said too much about the curly blonde telling them how to hold a hammer.  Now, I just tell the Lowe's sales reps what tool works better.

Not sure why I felt the need to say that, but anyways... That's that.  I am proud of my abilities to use power tools.

Alright, so back to my post..... Two sets were done this weekend! I am so excited about them.  The first is my Christmas set.  I did these after the excitement from my Halloween ones.  They are $25 including shipping.

I also created a silhouette nativity set.  The smaller are 2x4x4 blocks and the larger is 2x4x7! The star is wrapped metal.  They silhoutte's are rustic black painted on a light green background.  I will also include a small piece of burlap to set them on.  The entire set is $30 and it includes shipping.

Enjoy your week! Be on the lookout for more projects.

Much love,
Brie

The Holiday Season

Morning All!

October through December are my favorite time of year: Decorating the house for Christmas, the smell of holiday cheer, making large dinners for our dear friends who are away from family during the holidays.  Driving around Texas to stroll through Holiday light displays.  All are just a few reasons why I love this time of year.

This year may be different.  My husband is at the very end of being medically retired from the US Army.  It could be a week from now, or three months from now.  The only thing we know is that as soon as it is done, we will have 10 days to finish up our stuff at Ft. Hood, TX before we head off to our new home in Fort Myers, Florida.  With that being said, I am getting all my holiday crafting/painting done early this year.  Who knows: Maybe I'll have a larger home to decorate by Christmas.  (or maybe I'll be putting up the tree in a hotel?) Either way, I've always found each day to be unique and this time is no different.

Yesterday, I started my holiday painting.  This painting is done on salvaged pallet wood, and has repurposed wood on it as the holiday bells.  I'll be finishing up more paintings, so remember to bookmark this blog.
JOY~ Measures 10.5" W x 14" L
Price $25 plus shipping (I can ship flat rate priority for $11.95.. or standard mail for $8)  Free delivery in the Ft. Hood area

Summer Days

Good day everyone,
It's SUMMERTIME! I have been so busy lately, enjoying the beautiful times that summer brings.  About a month ago, my best friend got stationed here at Ft. Hood.  She is currently staying with us until she can find an apartment.  That is perfectly fine with me. Well, I got her room set up and I am so excited about these two pieces.

This twin size headboard is made from recycled wood pallets.  I love it.  The mattress goes up to the bottom row of boards, but I took it off so you could see how the legs are made.  I can do a headboard for you as well. These are $40, and if you want to add any art such as flowers or designs I can do that.  There will be an added charge.

I added this art to the room as well.  I used pallets for this as well and added a 5x7 picture frame. Email me if you are interested, I'd love to do one for you!

I hope you all are having a very blessed summer.

Much love,
Brie

Fundraiser for our Dear Friend

Good morning,
Bad news was given to my husband and I last week. One of our dear friends was hit in a vehicle accident.  After fighting for his life for 4 days in ICU, God decided it was time for him to come to him.  Louis Torraca was an excellent man, an amazing father, and a wonderful friend to many.
I have dedicated ALL SALES to him for the next month.  100% of your purchase price will be given to his son.  I have all immediate shipping items for sale at my facebook site.
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.225035790939167.46176.165565906886156&type=1&l=173b0e30f8

Any custom pieces will also be given to him.

Much love,
Brie

He loves me

My husband and I found the cutest little church to start attending here at Ft. Hood.  People are relaxed, just praising HIM.  When we left the other day, I thought to myself "I don't understand how some people can say that no one loves them"... He loves you.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believed in him shall not perish but have eternal life".

This is available for immediate shipping.  $10 plus shipping.  I will add either a hanger or twine/ribbon. Your choice.
Leave Paypal for Invoice.

Much Love,
Brie

A bucket of memories

Good morning all,
Sorry it's been a couple weeks. I had some personal stuff to tend to. Well, I'm back! So, if you all were not aware I lost two of the most important people in my life a couple months ago.  While I was in ND for Grandpa and Grandma's funeral, I received an old pickled herring bucket.  Now, most would wonder why on earth I would want such a thing.  Well, Grandpa loved his picked herring.  And the buckets, when empty, would be used for many things.  Often times, a bucket was found in the middle of the dining room table filled with random letters, remotes, etc...  Well this bucket just so happened to go through the horrible flood of 2011 and the one in 2009 also. I'm not 100 percent sure, but it may have been flooded prior times before that.  Well, this baby was caked with mud so much that I barely touched it and the whole thing fell apart.
Piecing it back together was easier said than done. Little did I know, that each little board belonged in a certain place or it would not fit together.  7 small boards to be exact.  I'm no math god, but I'm pretty sure that I finally got it together after about 100 different combinations.

I used a glue gun and some epoxy to ensure that the metal and each board would stay in one place.  Cleaned up the metal to the best that could be done (Can't completely shine up an antique).

Well, now that it is spring, I found the perfect use for it.  A flower pot. Grandma loved her flowers and is probably smiling up there about them.  I wish I had her green thumb though.  I'm 99 percent sure she could grow a rose in sand.

I'm so excited to have a little memorial of both grandpa and grandma to look at now!

They were amazing. Truly blessed.

Much love,
Brie

Mason Jar Dispensers

Good morning all,
Before I traveled to the frozen North, I had some crafting time.  I love Mason Jars.  You can do so much with them.  Well, this time around, I created a dispenser.  You can use these as soap or lotion.

All you need is a mason jar (you can purchase at Hobby Lobby), a dispenser (I got mine from my favorite store, Lowe's), and a drill.

Drill a hole that is the same size as the dispenser right in center of lid.
I use epoxy to glue the dispenser in place.

Ta-Da! It's done.  What a simple, yet fun project! I love it.  I gave one to my mother-in-law who loves gardening and canning.  She also loves birds, so I added something special.  Wire bird nests hanging from it with twine.  It is so cute in her kitchen.

I can make these for you as well, if you are interested! Price is $15 and I do accept paypal.

Much love,
Brie

She always has and always will be my inspiration

Greetings everyone from the frozen tundra.

I first wanted to apologize for my slow blog.  The past two weeks have been, well, tough.  On Friday January 6th, I lost the greatest inspiration of my life.  My grandmother, Lorraine, went to heaven.  On Saturday January 7th, my grandfather followed her in what could be taken as one of the greatest love stories ever written.

Needless to say, I am in North Dakota now for a few more days...... So sorry no art has been done lately.

My grandma is the one who I gave me my little bit of art talent that I have.  I have decided that my next venture will be in the art of rosemaling. (google it).

I may have to paint a couple doves as well.  :)

I MISS YOU GRANDMA AND GRANDPA.  It's just not the same.  I want to thank them for all the love and memories that I will have forever.  Thank you.
